The Australian Camp(2,165m) located at the outskirt of Dhampus Village is an easy village trek. This trek offers the view of the beautiful green hills, the mighty Annapurna ranges, and the lush Rhododendron forest. This 3-4 days’ trek is tailored so the trekkers can enjoy the magnificence of the Annapurna region in a limited time. Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Macchapucchre(6,993m) can also be seen at a distance. The view from the Australian Base Camp is one of the most beautiful in the Eastern Himalayan region and deserves great shots from your camera.
Our trek starts from Kathmandu. Our guide here at Happy Land Trek will assist you by dropping you off to your Hotel from Airport and briefing about the tour. After a 8 hour drive to Pokhara, we stay for the night and drive to Phedi the next morning. From here on, we trek on foot to the Village of Dhampus(1,650m) and to Australian Base Camp. On our way back, we return from Sarangkot route and back to Pokhara. 
Dhampus village is one of the major highlights of this trek with the unique slated roofed house and ethnic local people is one of the best places to experience the ethnic Nepalese culture. A short trek from this beautiful Dhampus, Australian Camp lies in the foothill of Annapurna and gives one of the best views of the Annapurna Massif. After trekking downhill through the thick forest and after another ascend through the stone staircase we reach Australian Basecamp. The 360-degree view is one of with such grandeur is not easily surpassed by others.

Short itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel and preparation for hiking
Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) by tourist bus or by Flight
Day 03: drive from Pokhara to Phedi (1100m) and trek to Australian camp (2160m)
Day 04: Trek from Australian Camp to Sarangkot (1592m)
Day 05: Sarangko to Pokhara (820m)
Day 06: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1336m)
Day 07: Departure to international airport or if you have few days extra in Kathmandu you can chill, shopping, sightseeing etc

We trek per day between 4 to 8 hours its depending on the walk, we can always tailor the date to you and your needs. Whilst trekking with Happyland Treks we recomends you to drink 3 to 4 liters water per day. Water is known to help when combating mountain altitude sickness.

During the trek almost every village you will have access to boiled purified drinking water. When trekking you will go through terrain that can be flat, downhill uphill and at points with lots of stairs. We are always there to help and support you and your journey.

We are in the tea house trekking
Tea house trek basically means small hotel with cozy room established along the trekking route that provide room and food. Most of this established family owned and home cooked meals are serve as well as different type of food European and western food its bit of different but it’s good.    
Mountain Sickness and prevention 
Mountain Altitude Sickness can affect anyone above 3000 meters. Altitude Sickness affects people regardless of sex. age and fitness. If you are showing signs of mountain altitude sickness your safety is our first priority and we will facilitate you getting down as fast as possible. We suggest prior to trekking to ensure you are in good health and have consulted with your GP. It is recommended prior to departing walking training is done so you have the most enjoyable time whilst trekking. Please don’t hesitate ask more.

Many people suffer from mild symptoms of AMS (ACCUTE MOUNTAIN SICKNESS)
A light headache, loss of appetite and disturbed sleep may occur when suffering from AMS. If you experience any of these symptoms do not continue ascend. Instead, stay where you are or go down to acclimatize.
Hace – High Altitude Cerebral Edema (swelling of the brain)
Hape – High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (fluids in the lungs)

Persistent severe headache, difficulty breathing, confused thinking, loss of appetite, rapid breathing or breathlessness at rest, vomiting, coughing up pink, brown or white sputum, sound of liquid in the lungs, blueness of face and lips, severe lethargy (not wanting to do anything), persistent bubbling cough, or persistent increased heart rate (110 per minute)
Prevention:- Drink plenty of water (not alcoholic beverage) and eat fruit - especially when crossing high pass.
