Sankhu Nagarkot 1 Day hike is a perfect way to explore the natural setting of the Himalayan panorama surrounding Kathmandu. Explore exclusive mountain scenery from Everest to Kanchenjunga, Annapurna Range, Jugal Range, Langtang range as well as the Ganesh Himal range from atop the tower in Nagarkot. Explore it all starting from the ancient Newar town of Sankhu and make this hike a memorable one.
Start off the panoramic nature trail walk through Sankhu and explore sparkling snow covered peak and the freshness of dense pine forests. Reach Nagarkot to breathe in the alluring views of mountain peaks and explore the views of the red sun, setting over the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas.

We trek per day between 4 to 8 hours its depending on the walk, we can always tailor the date to you and your needs. Whilst trekking with Happyland Treks we must try to drink 3 to 4 liters water per day. Water is known to help when combating mountain altitude sickness.
During the trek almost every village you will have mineral water bottle, purified drinking water. When trekking you will go through terrain that can be flat, downhill uphill and at points with lots of stairs. We are always there to help and support you and your journey.

Mountain Altitude Sickness can affect anyone above 3000 meters. Altitude Sickness affects people regardless of sex. age and fitness. If you are showing signs of mountain altitude sickness your safety is our first priority and we will facilitate you getting down as fast as possible. We suggest prior to trekking to ensure you are in good health and have consulted with your GP. It is recommended prior to departing walking training is done so you have the most enjoyable time whilst trekking. Please don’t hesitate ask more.
ACUTE MOUNTAIN SICKNESS!
Many people suffer from mild symptoms of AMS (ACCUTE MOUNTAIN SICKNESS)
A light headache, loss of appetite and disturbed sleep may occur when suffering from AMS. If you experience any of these symptoms do not continue ascend. Instead, stay where you are or go down to acclimatize.
Hace – High Altitude Cerebral Edema (swelling of the brain)
Hape – High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (fluids in the lungs)
Persistent severe headache, difficulty breathing, confused thinking, loss of appetite, rapid breathing or breathlessness at rest, vomiting, coughing up pink, brown or white sputum, sound of liquid in the lungs, blueness of face and lips, severe lethargy (not wanting to do anything), persistent bubbling cough, or persistent increased heart rate (110 per minute)
Prevention:- Drink plenty of water (not alcoholic beverage) and eat fruit - especially when crossing high pass.
