Here are some tips you might need to consider before going for an Everest Hike.
Train Before You Go
Hiking to Everest Base Camp doesn’t require any technical climbing experience or any altitude experience. However, you have to be physically fit and strong. You will also have to have a great amount of stamina. We recommend you to do acrobats like running, swimming, jumping rope, etc., as you will be in high altitude environment and should be able to withstand its pressure.
Get the Right Gear
One cannot explain how essential it is to get the right gear for Everest hike or trek. Also, the most important one among the gears is your trekking shoes. You will be walking every day for at least 6 hours, so don’t compromise on the shoes. Likewise, get a good big down jacket, sleeping bag which is -5, -10, -15 as it gets pretty cold during nighttime and even during the daytime in winter.
Always keep hydrated
Hydration is the key to completing the trek successfully. You will constantly be walking for hours at higher altitudes, so if you don’t drink enough fluids, your body won’t get proper oxygen, and you might suffer from Altitude sickness. Altitude sickness in the mountains gets life-threatening, so drink plenty of water and eat some fruits while trekking or hiking all around the world.
Keep a Slow and Steady Pace
Slow and steady wins the race. This saying is not more true than hiking in the trail of Everest. During your Everest hike or trek, don’t push yourself. If you push yourself too much, you might get tired quickly or won’t acclimatize properly, which gets deadly in mountain regions.
Protect Yourself from the Sun
The sunrays in the Himalayas can get very strong. As you walk at higher altitudes, the sun is pretty close, and your skin might get burned pretty quickly so don’t forgot to bring sunscreen while everest hike.
