You will start your journey on an air flight that takes you to Lukla (gateway to Everest).

The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is considered one of the world’s most dangerous one, however, is so lively as well. There are other ways if you do not want to take the airway, but we think missing this opportunity is a bad idea for adventure lovers. Your Everest base camp journey will take you through the famous sherpa villages, staggering Khumbu Valley, famous monasteries where people pray for their safe journey. You will even get to see the Sagarmatha national park listed in the world heritage site, which is home to several rare species like musk deer, red panda and snow leopard, etc.

These 15 days journey to Everest base camp trek will let you view Phakding after your 55 min plane ride to Lukla. After that, you have to walk uphill to reach Namche bazaar by taking permits at Monju. A 3:30-hour hike to Khumjung and Kunde village while you are in Namche, is the best thing to do.  The next day you are going to conquer the Tengboche monastery, and on your way, you are encountering so many mountains like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega.

You are going to acclimatize for the next day and can hike to a nearby chucking village from Dingboche. After that, you explore Kathmandu and Pokhara and their unique beauty, it’s time to take a 1.5-hour drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. Now your trekking journey starts where you walk through a dirt road following a beautiful stream to reach to Ulleri. You will pass through villages and green mountain areas while moving to Ulleri, and this is the final destination for today. Now next day, it’s time to trek towards Ghorepani.

The trail is kind of cultivated meadows, and a rhododendron forest. After 6-7 hours of hiking, you will reach Ghorepani, which is famous for panoramic mountain views Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Hiuchuli, etc. After an overnight stay at Ghorepani, the next day, we will hike towards Poonhil 3210m. which is just 45 – 60 min uphill, to bless your eyes with the beautiful changing colors of mountains that shine differently when the sunlight falls upon them.

Great Himalayan scenery

Amazing Annapurna mountain’s panoramic view include world’s 7th highest mountain Dhaulagiri. Later we are going to Tadapani after having our breakfast at Ghorepani. Next, we will be hiking to Chhomrong, where you will pass downhill and then an uphill passing suspension bridge at Kimrung Khola, finally reaching Chhomrong.

After a peaceful night at Chhomrong, we are walking downhills and then uphills crossing the Chhomrong stream to reach an easier path followed by rhododendron, fern, and orchid forests. After walking for some time, you will stop at bamboo, where you can have your lunch and start your hike again to finally reach Dovan, which is at 2630m. Now the next two days trek will be the memorable ones when you are going to encounter the most famous and awaited destinations. Now from Dovan, walk through the jungle to the Himalayas.

Sightseeing of Machapuchre base camp

Walking to Machapuchre base camp, the vegetation changes incredibly, taking you through oak and rhododendron forests. Cho Oyu, and other snow-capped ones, the Dudh Koshi trail brings you to Machhermo, where you can enjoy scenic views. Continuing our walk, the next day through Sherpa villages takes us to the first lake in the Everest region.

After the lake, if we continue to walk, we can see another lake in the Everest region, and finally. Gokyo lake can be seen at an altitude of 4750m. Finally, after resting the night at Gokyo lake, we head towards Gokyo Ri. The next morning, you can walk towards Poonhill to witness the beauty of sunrise in the Annapurna massif and then return. So that you can walk towards Tadapani overnight camp, next the journey is going towards. Jhinu dada famous for natural hot springs where most travelers bath to relax their body. The next destination from Jhinu dada will be ghandruk village that lies at an altitude of 1940m.

The trail to Ghandruk village is beautifully compelled with big towns, in Ghandruk. We can visit museum, cultural custom, high school, Very short documentary about Annapurna trekking area. Neat day morning after breakfast towards to Nayapul. It’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful view because we are going back to Pokhara. Which takes us about 1:30 hours’ drive from the Nayapul to Pokhara.

As a whole, Poonhill provides us with panoramic views of the western Himalayas such as Mt. Hiuchuli, Mt. Dhaulagiri, many Annapurna Himalaya ranges, Mt. Machapuchree and many more. This path is similar to the Everest Gokyo lake trek mentioned above upto Machhermo to Gokyo at an altitude of 4800m. Then your journey begins towards Thagnak after acclimatization at Gokyo.

Crossing the largest glacier globally, Ngozumpa, while moving towards Thagnak, is the major highlight of the hike. Later the next day, our journey will be for about 7-8 hours. The trail to Chola pass and then to Todzongla is the toughest of our complete journey. The trail is somewhat vertical and slippery and consists of a glacier on the eastern side. We can have the best view of Cholatse, Ama Dablam, and Lobuche mountains from Dzongla village.

Ultimate Everest quest

The next day, we will be walking for about 3-4 hours on a very easy path to reach Lobuch. Which lies at 4940m. Finally, it’s time to walk towards Gorakshep, which is at an altitude of 5170 from where we are going to Everest base camp at 5364m. Lastly, we are going to Kala Patthar, where Everest’s best views can be seen. It takes about 7-8 hrs to reach Kala Patthar from Gorakshep, where we can have 360-degree views of the highest peak in the world. Then we have to return to Pheriche, and the next day we will be trek day by day till to lukla on the way to Tengboche monastery and Namche Bazar.
