It is better if you book a flight to Lukla than walk towards the village. Not only will you reach there on time, but you will also get to enjoy the famous adventurous flight to Lukla. You will get to enjoy the view of soaring mountain peaks below you. You can book an Everest trip or flight to Lukla by Happyland Treks, one of the local agencies based in Kathmandu Nepal, we will make sure you get on the right flight to reach Lukla on time.

Also, it’s better to book a first, second, or third early morning flight as it has higher chances to reach Lukla on time. The afternoon flight often gets delayed or even canceled due to uncertain weather in Lukla.

Pick the Itinerary Suitable for your Everest Trek

Whether you take the trek independently or with an Everest trek Specialist, your itinerary will generally be between 12 to 16 days. Many agencies, including Happyland Treks offers, personalize itineraries for the trip. So, while making the trip, make sure your itinerary fits for you and has enough time for you to acclimatize properly.

Arrange a Guide/Porter Everest Trek

If you wish to trek independently, then you won’t be requiring this. However, it is best to hire a guide or a porter for the trek for safety reasons. While looking for the company that arranges a guide or porter for you, you need to look for certain things.

You need to look for an agency with a certified and well-trained guide. They also need to have an Everest Trek Specialist, as the trail to Everest is quite difficult compared to others. Likewise, it’s better to hire a local agency as they charge much lower than the big international travel companies.

Moreover, you need to make sure the company provides proper acclimatization policies to complete the trek, before guiding a helicopter company for a general altitude sickness symptom. Also, agree to meet the guide before the trip. You must see if the guide is well-trained and certified.

Arrange the Permit Everest Trek

Everest Region trek is within Sagarmatha National Park and Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. So, you will need a couple of permits to enter the Everest Region. You will need to get a Sagarmatha National Park Permit which costs about 3000 rupees. Then, you will also need to get permission from the Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, which costs 2000 rupees.

You can get the Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permit in Lukla. However, you need to reach the park’s entry point at Jorsalay to obtain Sagarmatha National Park Permits. However, you might need a TIMS CARD also if you are planning to trek to Everest Base Camp. TIMS CARD sometimes need sometimes don’t need. Furthermore, you won’t have to worry about obtaining the permits if you are with a tour or a local agency. They will arrange all the paperwork in advance, so you can avoid the hassle. Everest Trek Specialist is a government-registered trekking agency like Happyland Treks.
