Full Itinerary of Mount Everest Trek from Kathmandu
Day 1: Arrival at the Kathmandu Nepal.

Altitude: 1,350m/4,428 ft.

On your first day, we will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. We heartily welcome you to our beautiful country. After a brief introduction with our team members, we will drop you at your cozy hotel, where you’ll be spending the night. We will be providing you with trekking instructions and helping you prepare for the Everest Base Camp Trek the same night.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding.

Altitude: 2,800m/9,184ft (Lukla) & 2,652m/8,698 ft. (Phakding)

Walking Distance: 8 km (3 – 4 hours)

The following day, you’ll have an early flight to Lukla, which takes approximately 40 minutes to arrive. After the safe yet adventurous flight, we’ll start our trek to Phakding, crossing many local villages and having spectacular views of the highest peaks. Finally, we’ll be staying for the night in Phakding, relishing the mountain civilizations and the taste of Nepali food.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar.

Altitude: 3,440 m / 11,283 ft.

Walking Distance: 10-12 km (6-7 hours)

The next morning, after breakfast, we’ll commence our trek to the famed Namche Bazaar. Although we will start walking on a flat surface, we will gradually enter the uphill valley followed by a downhill. Then, we’ll trek along the trail through beautiful pine forests and the Dudh Koshi River to Monjo Village.

When we arrive at the entrance of Everest National Park, we’ll help you register for trekking permits. Here at Monjo, after we cross the suspension Hillary Bridge, which is the highest bridge trekkers pass through, we will trek uphill for around 2:30 hrs. to Namche Bazaar. Here, we’ll see the beautiful snowy scenery of Mt. Everest from a distance once we climb Namche Bazaar. We’ll spend the night and relax after a long tiring day.

Day 4: Acclimatization & Hiking to Everest View Hotel. 

The fourth day will be your finest stay for you to acclimatize to the altitude of Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Khumbu region. Accordingly, hiking in the same region in a place like Khumjung or a 2-3 hrs. In addition, climbing to the Everest View Hotel (3880m) would be a great onset to adapt your body to a higher altitude. with a mountain view.

Also, here, in Namche bazaar, you could visit the Tenzing Norgay Memorial to pay respect, as he was the first person to summit Mount Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953.

Besides, you’ll find many fellow visitors there and can shop for unique souvenirs. You can visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, a place  where you can also examine the cultural significance of people living in the region along with the famous Sherpa mountaineering history.

Day 5: Trek from Namche to Tengboche.

Altitude: 3,800 m / 12,467 ft.

Walking Distance: 9.2 km (5-6 hours)

The starting of the trek is flat with a little bit uphill to Kayangjuma. Then, the downhill starts from where we overlook to cross the river, and at the end of the day, we will climb for two and half hours to Tengboche. During the trek to Phungi Thanga, you will see cosmic views on the route with several ascents and descents.

Next, the same trail is followed by a long, steep, and little hard climb to Tengboche. Moreover, this region has the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, which is a much-visited destination. The entire day will go by with this adventurous trek, so we’ll stay for the night here.

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche.

Altitude: 4,200 m / 13,779 ft.

Walking Distance: 9 km (6-7 hours)

This trekking day will start with a little bit of uncomplicated downhill at the beginning, but gradually we will be climbing upwards. At the near end of the day, with very little climbing, we will be passing through a 5-7 minutes landslide area. Then, traveling through the Imja Khola River, we’ll reach Pangboche village, where you can see the astounding view of Mt. Ama Dablam. Pangboche is also the biggest settlement of Sherpas in the Khumbu region. After strolling for a few hours, we’ll arrive at Dingbochewhere we’ll spend the night.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day & Hiking around. 

After walking for six days, we’ll be pretty tired, so we’ll be having a day’s rest in Dingboche. Your body also needs to adapt to changes in climate, pressure, altitude, and surroundings. Besides, here you can enjoy the view of nearby peaks: Ama Dablam (6812 m), Makalu (8485 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Kantega (6782m), and Cho Oyu (6160 m). Along with that, you’ll be having a lot of fun adjusting to the climate and altitude.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche.

Altitude: 4,900 m / 16,076 ft.

Walking Distance: 11-12 km (5-6 hours) 

We’ll resume our journey the next morning after breakfast. Trekking through the snow-capped cliffs of Cholatse and Tabuchi, we will ascend steeply on the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. During the trek, we will come across memorials of Sherpa climbers who lost their lives climbing the peaks. Then, after a few hours of walking through the valley, we’ll reach our destination, Lobuche, where we’ll be staying for the night.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp.

Altitude: 5,180 m / 16,994 ft. (Gorakshep) & 5,364 m / 17,598 (EBC)

Walking Distance: 15 km (7-8 hours)

Finally, after all, your hardships and dedication, you’ll come across Everest Base Camp on the ninth day. However, foremost, you must cross the Khumbu Glacier, reaching Gorakshep. Following this, the trip gets challenging; you’ll be hiking through rocky landscapes and icefalls.

Regardless, it will be worth it once you see the breathtaking view of the mountain range from the Everest Base Camp. And we will spend 10-20 minutes at the base camp. And we’ll be descending to Gorakshep to spend the night.

Day 10: Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and Pheriche.

Altitude: 5,545 m / 18,192 ft. (Kala Patthar) & 4,320 m / 14,173 ft. (Pheriche)

Walking Distance: 12-13 km (7 hours)  

Starting with an early morning climb at 4:15 a.m., we will reach Kala Patthar (meaning black rock in Nepali) within 2 – 3 hours of the climb. When you arrive here, you’ll see beautiful 360 views of the mountain with sunrise, below will be the view of the stunning Khumbu Glacier, while overhead will be the unbelievable views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Changtse, and Mt. Lhotse. after back to Gorakshep breakfast and we’ll be descending our way back to Pheriche.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche.

Altitude: 3,440 m / 11,284 ft.

Walking Distance: 13-15 km (7-8 hours) 

Returning from our incredible Everest Base Camp trek on the eleventh day, the journey will be full of ups and downs as we descend to Namche Bazaar. On the way, we’ll have lunch at Tengboche and come across the rhododendron forest again before reaching Namche Bazaar, where we’ll spend the night. Additionally, if you haven’t bought the souvenirs yet, this night will be your chance to shop for yourself and your loved ones back home.

Day 12: Trip from Namche to Phakding and Lukla.

Altitude: 2,800 m / 9,184 ft.

Walking Distance: 16 km (7-8 hours)  

On our way back, the trek is downhill to Hillary suspension bridge, and we will pass through using the dense pine forest. Moreover, the route then descends again to Lukla, where we will reach the Dudh Koshi River. After passing through the dense forest again, experiencing more of the park’s flora and fauna, and crossing several villages. Finally, we’ll have a good dinner at our successful and fun Everest Base Camp trek. This observes your victorious trek along with your trekking team members.

Day 13: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Altitude: 1,350 m / 4,428 ft.

Flight time: 40 minutes.

You’ll return to Kathmandu. after around 35-40 minutes of the flight back. you’ll arrive at your comfy hotel, where you can rest for the day. Besides, you can also take your time to explore the city on the last day. Lastly, we’ll have a goodbye dinner at night with the whole trekking team.

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu.

Altitude: 1,350 m / 4,428 ft.

Our beautiful journey to Everest Base Camp Trek ends on the final day. So, you’ll be returning home after a long yet excellent trek. We’ll drive you to the Tribhuvan International Airport according to your scheduled flight. We will say our goodbyes and wish you well for your upcoming life adventures.
