Although, is a short flight of only 35 mins, the things you experience on this flight are to die for. The scenic view of the hills and the Himalayas is worth every buck. As we reach Lukla we will begin our trek after a short break. This day will an easy one. A half-day trek beside the Dudh Koshi River until reaching Phakding where we will spend the night.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft.
Walking Distance: 10-12km (5-6 hours)

The trail next day continues to be along the Dudh Koshi river. The trek this day will be an easy one on the flat surface. But as we get into the more intense hours of the day, we tend to face rough and beaten paths Moreover, the trail of mighty Dudh Koshi helps us enter the great Everest Sagarmatha National park.

Reaching suspension Hillary bridge, we tend to stop for the day. But before the day ends, we tend to take a steep hill for around 2:30 hours and then finally reach the destination for this day i.e. Namche Bazaar. Therefore, the day ends as we get the first glance of the wonderful Mount Everest at a distance. We spend the night there.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft.

Trekking is fun, but there are lots of things one needs to consider while trekking at a high altitude. Therefore, acclimation is one of the most essential things that must not be overseen while trekking. So this day 4 at Namche Bazaar will be our first acclimatization day. For you to adapt to this altitude and the environment of Namche Bazaar. Therefore, having a few days on our hands i.e. 14 days we will surely not let it pass easily.

Moreover, we will try to squeeze out every last bit of drop from this day. You could keep yourself occupied with things such as hiking to places like Khumjung, or a two-hour hike all the way up to Everest View Hotel, these kinds of activities would be a great way to help your body adapt to this environment and prepare it for the upcoming challenges.
Thus, another great thing to do is to visit the Tenzing Norgay Memorial to pay respect., as he was the first person to summit Mount Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953.

Altitude: 3,800/12,467ft.
Walking Distance: 9.2 km (5-6 hours)

It’s time to say goodbye to the luxurious Namche Bazaar. The trek begins early money with a flat and a bit of uphill until we reach Kayangjuma. Therefore, the intense hours of the days with testing us with the more challenging route. A bit downhill and we cross the river through a suspension bridge. Moreover, at around the end of the day, we then climb to Tengboche for around 2:30 hrs. which will be quite a challenging one.

During this trail of day 5, you will experience much more things, during this trek we reach Phungi Thanga, where for a moment you could relax your eyes with the magnificent views of the glorious mountain region. The trail leads you to a long steep and challenging climb to reach Tengboche, but with proper guidance can easily be overcome Thus reaching Tengboche, we spend the night there.

Altitude: 4,200/13,779ft.
Walking Distance: 9 km (5-6 hours)

Yet another quite a challenging day we face. The trail from Tengboche to Dingboche fluctuates through a little bit of downhill at the beginning and then takes a sudden uphill turn. In addition, today is quite a journey. However, the day begins as we move alongside the trail of the Imj Khola river. The path of this beautiful river then leads us to Pangvoche village. In addition, Pangvoche village is recognized as the biggest settlement of Sherpas in the Khumbu region.

Therefore after taking a short break there we tend to continue our journey until we reach Dingboche valley. At the end of the day, we also cross a landslide are, carefully. Therefore, reaching Dingboche first thing you get to see is the jaw-dropping view of Mount Amadablam. Therefore, this wraps the day and we will stay overnight there.

This 14-day trek of ours is by no means a joke. This altitude is often considered dangerous. So, for your safety, we take yet another day off for acclimatization. This makes your body perfectly adapted to this extreme temperature which for your upcoming journey will be easier. However, as the previous acclimatization day, this precious day of our trip will also not go to waste. Therefore, there are lots of activities that may help you get everything out of your day.

In addition, activities such as visiting stupas, and walking to Chhukung village(4730m) would be another escape point to redeem the day. Moreover, a perfect hiker to the base of Nangkar Tshanf peak(5083m) would be a great way to spend this day. Therefore, after the trek, we return back to Dingboche and return back home.

Altitude: 4,900m/16,076ft.
Walking Distance: 11-12 km (6-7 hours)

After a day’s rest, we hence again get onto our path. We begin in the early day with an easy hike up to Thukla. Where we will be having our lunch. Therefore, after lunch is when the hard part of the trek starts.

Moreover, we trek uphill for 1:30 hrs. which will get us to the high hills. Moreover, these hills are the Sherpas memorial climbers where tributes are paid to the lost souls of the brave Sherpas who have lost their life trekking and hiking throughout the years.

Altitude: 5180m/16,994ft (Gorakshep) & 5364m/17598 (EBC)
Walking Distance: 15km (6-8 hours)

The day we all have been waiting for is finally here. However, as they say, hard work pays, today you will be reaching the base camp. Beginning from Lobuche, we then take a trail to Gorakshep which will be a rough journey for the day bout 3 hrs. Therefore, stopping then at Gorakshep we then take a break for lunch.

Moreover, continuing our journey, we then continue to ascent the rocky trails and huge glaciers path which are dangerous yet fun at the same time. Therefore, now you must be ready to capture the most fantastic experience of your life when you finally reach the Everest Base Camp. The heavenly and scenic views are enough for a grown man to shed the tear of happiness. After certain hours at the base camp, we then descend back to Gorakshep for the day and spend the night there.

Altitude: 5,545m/18,192ft (Kalapathar) & 4,320m/14,173ft (Pheriche)
Walking Distance: 12-13km (7 hours)

The next day will be the day when we get a closer view of Everest. There is no better place than the famous Kalapatthar for the most scenic views of Everest. At the beginning of the day, we start our journey at around 4:30 am as the day will be quite busy ahead and we need to catch up with the schedule. We start climbing from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar for the most magnificent views of Everest. Moreover, after a rough climb of about 3 hrs. is where we will be reaching the Kala Patthar.

Moreover, we get the most scenic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, and Lhotse shining brightly through the rays of the sun. In addition, after sightseeing, we tend back to descend back to Gorakshep where we will be having a breakfast. However, we continue our descent for the day all the way up to Pheriche and will be spending our night there.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,284ft.
Walking Distance: 13-15km (8 hours)

This is the day when we descend a massive amount of altitude in a pretty short period of time. From Pheriche, we get down to Namche which is not a small deal. Therefore, the beginning of the day starts with a 20 min climb for us to reach Tengboche, which will be our lunch break time.

Moreover, having our lunch we tend to continue our journey and cross the Dudh Koshi river.
In addition, for about a trek of almost 1:30 hrs. full of uphill and downhill, we finally reach Namche Bazaar. Therefore, you will finally be getting a comfortable sleep in days.

Altitude: 2,800m/9,184ft.
Walking Distance: 16km (6-7 hours)

Lastly, this day is no less than the previous day, where most of the day we spend downhill and descending. Beginning our days with natural thrillers, we descend to the Hillary suspension bridge where we pass through the luscious pine forest.
Moreover, this trail leads us up to the lookup, where we will be descending following the path of the Dudh Koshi river. Moreover, we tend to pass through many villages, and dense forests before reaching our destination for the one last time.

This is where we experience the beauty of Sagarmatha National Park yet again for the last time until next time. To sum up, you will finally reach Lukla where you definitely would be needing huge celebrations the task you accomplished is by no means a small one. Many people are still trying to trek this land, whereas you stand proud to conquer it.

Trekking to the base camp of Everest was my lifetime ambition. I completed it in 2021. This lifetime experience will be the most memorable part of my life. Reaching the top of the base camp and watching Everest from Kala Patthar was truly satisfying. All these would not be possible without Happyland Treks. A huge thanks to them.

In the beginning, I just thought the person representing this agency was a polite man. But, later, when I went on this trip, I found out that he and his whole team are fun and friendly people. Even though we’re tourists here, they made us feel at home. And, of course, the scenery was so breathtaking.

Our Trek to Everest Base Camp was one of the most exciting adventures ever. We got to experience the life of Sherpas living in the Himalayan region. I yielded my regards to famous mountain climbers’ memorials. The trip was so beautiful and fun that I want to revisit Nepal to go on another journey like this.
