With your landing in Kathmandu, the team of Happyland Treks greets you heartily in the capital city of Nepal. Momentarily, you land our guide will pick you up from the airport and escort you to your hotel for the day. Moreover, In the evening shortly after the dinner, we will be planning a small evening session with our team members, guide and experts as a final preparation for your trek.

Altitude: 2,800m/9184ft (Lukla) & 2,652m/8,698ft (Phakding)
Walking Distance: 8km (3-4 hours)

On this day we will be leaving the luxurious hotel and Kathmandu city behind. Early morning of day 2 we will take a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which will be for about 40 mins. Moreover, the flight being only 35 minutes, this small amount of time is quite enough to thrill your heart presenting you with the most absolutely stunning views of the hills and the Himalayas.

Therefore, after we land on Lukla, we start our trek after a short break to comprehend the flight time. Moreover, this day would be an easy one. You will be walking alongside the Dudh Koshi river for half of the day. When you finally reach Phakding, we will be spending the night there.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft.
Walking Distance: 10-12km (5-6 hours)

The real trek starts from here onwards. Firstly, we start day 3 by continuing to move along the path of the Dudh Koshi river for this day. At the beginning of the day, we tend to trek on a flat surface. But as we get into the more intense hours of the day, we will then be facing more challenging paths and trails. The long walk across the Dudh Koshi river, experiencing its beauty we tend to enter the great Sagarmatha National Park. For the first time, we get to experience its beauty, the flora, and the fauna of this park. For a short time, we mesmerize its beauty and continue our trek.

Moreover, we will then reach to suspension of Hillary bridge. Coming towards the end of the day, for the last time in the day we push ourselves a little bit and hike to Namche bazaar for around 2:30 hrs. on quite a steep hill.
Finally reaching Namche Bazaar, we get to see the Mighty Everest for the first time at the distance standing tall will glory. With this mesmerizing view, we call it a day and spend the night there.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft.

Everything has its pro and cons in a way. Similarly, the greatest challenge, or cons whatever we call it during trekking is altitude and altitude sickness. Moreover, Acclimatization is a must while trekking at high altitudes in Nepal. If not serious often the result could be threatening. So we will be acclimatizing in Namche bazaar for the fourth day. But acclimatization day won’t necessarily mean sitting in the hotel the whole day.

We will be trying to squeeze every last bit of fun and adventure from this day on which we already are short to begin. Moreover, keeping ourselves occupied with various activities would be a perfect way to spend this day. In addition, hiking interesting places like Khumjung or a two-hour hike to Everest View hotel would be a perfect way to optimize this day at its best preparing your body for much more high altitude and extreme conditions. Moreover, another great thing to do in this free time is to visit the Tenzing Norgay Memorial to pay respect., as he was the first person to summit Mount Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953.

Altitude: 3,800/12,467ft.
Walking Distance: 9.2 km (5-6 hours)

The trek up to Namche Bazaar can be said as a mediocre one and an easy one. This is the day when we leave the easy task behind and continue our journey to take on more challenges. The day begins with an early morning trek on a flat surface, but gradually we encounter a bit of uphill until we reach Kauangjuma. Moreover, as we get deep into the hours of the day, more and more challenges show up creating sometimes tough situations. But we and our guide will escort you the best. We also tend to go a bit downhill where we will be crossing a suspension bridge.

The day of the day comes near as we cross the bridge, so we will be giving one last hike of about 2:30 hrs. to reach Tengboche, which is our destination for the day. As hard as this day sounds you will experience the most astonishing views of the wonderful Himalaya range to its fullest. Once we reach Tengboche we will be spending the night there preparing for yet another hard day tomorrow.

Altitude: 4,200/13,779ft.
Walking Distance: 9 km (5-6 hours)

Yet another hard day stands in front of us. This day will be equally challenging as the previous one. The trail from Tengboche to Dingboche is by no means an easy one. Being full of slight downhill and a whole load of uphill. The beginning of the day starts as we take a walk on a flat surface, then we transit to a downhill surface. As other days, getting into the day we will be facing whole loads of uphill and steep climbs. We begin our day walking beside the Imj Khola and taking the trail beside it.

This will directly lead us to Pnagvoche village which therefore is the biggest settlement of Sherpas at this altitude and elevation. In this village, we will be taking a short break for catching our breath. Then we will again be continuing. At the end of the day, we will be giving one last hike to Dingboche, where we will pass through a landslide area carefully. Moreover, as we reach Dingboche, you will be rewarded with the most mesmerizing view of Mount Amadablma for your hard work on this day. These wonderful sights wrap up this day as we spend the night there.

Trekking for 14 days is by no means a joke. Moreover, the altitude variation throughout these 14 days could be harmful. Therefore, acknowledging your safety we will again be having yet another day of acclimatization day in Dingboche. This acclimatization day makes your body perfectly compatible for the upcoming hike and moments before you reach the base camp. However, as the last acclimatization day, this day won’t be going to waste. We will be doing various activities which will help us redeem this day on this already short trip of ours.

Moreover, activities such as visiting stupas and a quick trek to Chukkung village would be another wonderful thing to do to utilize this day at its best. Also, if you have the energy then another hike to the base camp of Nangkar Tshanf peak would be a great thing to do where you could get astonishing views of the Himalayas. As the day comes to end, we will return back to Dingboche and spend the night there.

Altitude: 4,900m/16,076ft.
Walking Distance: 11-12 km (6-7 hours)

After a good rest day, we will begin our day with great energy and passion as we had the day we reached Lukla. We begin early in the morning with an easy hike up to Thukla, where we will be having our lunch for the day. After a quick break , we then continue our journey and this is when we start to face the hard part of the day. After about a climb of 1:30 hrs., the trail will take us to the high hills.

Moreover, this is where the Sherpas memorial climbers are located where tributes are paid to the lost souls of the brave Sherpas who have lost their life trekking and climbing. After this, we then reach Lobuche after a short trek, then we will be calling it a day and spending the there.

Altitude: 5180m/16,994ft (Gorakshep) & 5364m/17598 (EBC)
Walking Distance: 15km (6-8 hours)

This is the day we all have been desperately waiting for. The day when all the hard work finally pays off as we will be reaching the Everest Base Camp. We begin our day early from Lobuche. We start with a trail that takes us straight to Gorakshep. After about 3hrs rough and challenging treks we will then finally reach Gorakshep. Here, we will take a small break for lunch. After lunch, we will continue to ascend the rocky trail and the high glacier paths. These paths are fun and challenging at the same time so being a little more care may be helpful. Moreover, after crossing the glacier in front stands the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest.

You must be ready to experience the most amazing moments of your life as your happiness and excitement are bound to reach a whole another level. Experiencing the beauty of the base camp and the scenic views of the Himalayas we will then return back after a few hours in base camp. As we return back to Gorakshep, the day ends here as we spend the night there.

Altitude: 5,545m/18,192ft (Kalapathar) & 4,320m/14,173ft (Pheriche)
Walking Distance: 12-13km (7 hours)

What use when you get to the base camp but are still not able to get a close-up and clear view of Everest? For the very purpose the next day we will hike to Kalapatthar, which is the Everest viewpoint and the original base camp of Everest. This day starts early at 4:30 am as we will both ascend and descend this day. After a 3 hrs of strenuous hike, we finally will reach Kalapatthar, from where scenic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, and Lhotse shine brightly through the rays of the sun. Moreover, after these mesmerizing views, we will then be returning to Gorakshep. In addition, on this day we will be descending up to Pheriche and spending the night there.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,284ft.
Walking Distance: 13-15km (8 hours)

This day will be the day when we descend a whooping amount of altitude in a short period. We begin this beautiful day with a climb of about 20 min to Tengboche, from where the path is all downhill. After a short lunch break in Tengboche, we will continue our descent crossing the Dudh Koshi river. In addition, after trekking about for 1:30hrs we will finally reach Namche Bazaar. Therefore, settling at a somewhat normal altitude we will finally be getting a comfortable sleep in days.

Altitude: 2,800m/9,184ft.
Walking Distance: 16km (6-7 hours)

Here comes another day full of ascending and downhill. Yet this beautiful day starts with many natural phenomena around you. From Namche bazaar, we will first descend to Hilary suspension bridge. Passing through the same old lushing pine trees, dense forest, and small villages. This path of the Dudh Koshi river will take us to lookup.

As we get near Lukla, we will be saying one last bye to the Sagarmatha National Park for providing us with such a good time. Reaching Lukla, you will be needing a huge celebration, as the task you accomplished is by no means an easy one. Many people tend to fail to conquer this land and yet you are here with success. Congratulations.

Altitude: 1400m/4593ft.
Flight time: 40 min.

At last, everything needs a goodbye. We will today be saying a very goodbye to the Everest region and the Himalayan range for giving us such a wonderful time and happiness. Moreover, we came here with nothing but are returning with loads of memories and experiences. Therefore, early morning we will be taking a flight to Kathmandu.

Reaching Kathmandu, we will escort you to your hotel. On this day you will mostly be taking a rest and exploring the city. In addition, we will all gather at the dinner, summarize your story and hear our experiences. We look forward to it.

Altitude: 1,400m/4,593ft
To sum up, during these wonderful 14 days of adventure, we will not guide you to Tribhuwan International Airport. As per your schedule, you will be taking your flight to your destination. We wish you safe travels and healthy life. The experience we created together shall always be deep within our hearts. Goodbye until next time. This ends the Everest trek and tour

Trek to Everest Base Camp was a thrilling adventure, and the beauty of Nepal feels underappreciated when seen live. The proverb “Heaven is a myth, Nepal is real.” is indeed true. The diverse culture is even more fascinating. You should experience it once in your life.

I’ve had many trekking adventures, but the trek to Everest is one of my best. Mt. Everest is beautiful, but the trail leading to it is incredible. Moreover, the experience was thrilling, and we saw spectacular views throughout the route to Everest Base Camp.
