What to Expect Everest Trekking in Nepal

About 2 weeks trek to Everest base camp is physically demanding but technically not very difficult. In addition, no need for mountaineering skills to complete the trek, but improving your cardio, rowing, cycling, and jogging exercise can help your body and energy level, making walking easy.

In general, we start our trek around 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. and reach the destination around 3 to 4 p.m. Moreover, we’re staying in a trekking tea house with basic accommodation provided with food.

Water is good medicine for the altitude so drink plenty of water as often.  And good to avoid alcohol and smoking.     

Walking anywhere from 4 hrs. to 9 hrs. a day, slow and steady, given a variety of terrain, including stairs uphill and downhill, rocky trails, dunes, moraine, High suspension bridges, glaciers, etc.  

Highest Altitude of the Trek

Purified water, Shower, and Mobile Battery

In addition, During the trek almost every village. Therefore, You will have access to boiled purified drinking water. When trekking you will go through terrain, that can be flat, downhill uphill, and at points with lots of stairs. 

However, For the shower, cold showers are free but we do not recommend, Not recommending cold showers. Moreover, because it is cold up there during the trek, it’s better to have a hot shower. Therefore, Which is possible by Gas Geysers, or Hot Bucked and prices start from 200 – 500 rupees per head.

Kathmandu land, one of our staff will pick you up and drop you at the hotel. Therefore, later you will meet our company CEO and guide, prepare and learn more about the trip.

Flight to Lukla and a short tea or coffee break, meeting trekking porters, and slowly we trek to Phakding. Therefore, the first day was short and easy. (Flight can be either from KTM to Lukla, or Ramechhap to Lukla. Depending on the weather condition)

Max Altitude: 2,800m/9184ft (Lukla) & 2,652m/8,698ft (Phakding) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerAccommodation: Trekking tea houseDistance: Approx. 8km (3-4 hours)

Walking along the Duth Koshi River, forest, and crossing Hillary Bridge, we need to climb at 2:30 hrs. to reach Namche Bazaar at the end of the day.

Acclimatization Day hiking uphill 2-3hrs to Everest View Hotel (3880m/12.729ft) and national park. Therefore, Enjoying the Himalayan view and valley, after that we will be back to Namche, have lunch, rest and wander around.

2nd acclimatization day, Hike 400-600 hundred meters uphill and back to Dingboche for lunch and rest.

The beginning of the day is easy till the Thukla, lunch at Thukla after lunch at 1:30 hrs. Therefore, Climb to the memorial of lost climbers. After the tribute, an easy path to Lobuche.

A beautiful view and about 2-3 hrs. walking to reach Gorakshep. And our lunch break. Therefore, After lunch, we trek to the Everest base camp followed by the ascent, descent, and rocky moraine path adventure with a great experience and breathtaking beauty. Moreover, after enjoying and taking the picture we returned to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.

Morning hikes up to Kala Patthar at about 2:30 hrs. Therefore, Challenging altitude can make it more uphill. but worth it on a clear day. Moreover, after Kala Patthar back downhill to Gorakshep, breakfast, and trek to Pangboche.

The trail has little ups and downs with an easy starting, about 20 minutes uphill to Tengboche. Therefore, after Tengboche downhill, and uphill till to Kayangjuma, and the easy path to Namche.

Descent to Lukla crossing several suspensive bridges and following the Dudh Koshi river and valley. Therefore, our trek took us back to Lukla, which will be the Last night of the trek.

Do I need training for Everest Trekking in Nepal?

Trekking in the Himalayas is challenging. Therefore, As you will be hiking steadily for 4 to 8 hours a day, this trek is great for people with some physical fitness. In addition, Improving your cardio endurance with activities such as jogging or rowing beforehand can help your body and energy level during the trip, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. However, it is not necessary to be a high-level athlete, simply in good shape.

What is the best season for Everest Trekking?

However, People travel and trek every month of the year, but the best seasons are Spring, from March to May, and Autumn, from October to the beginning of December. Therefore, January is one of the coldest months of the year and May is one of the hottest. In addition, the rainy season happens between June and August, so you should keep that in mind when planning your trip.
