Spread throughout the city of Kathmandu are heritages of paramount importance. We first begin the tour with the temples of Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath.The former is dedicated to Lord Buddha while the latter to Lord Shiva. In fact, Pashupatinath is one of the greatest Hindu temples and commands more than thousand visitors each day. Kathmandu valley brings devotees of both Buddhism and Hinduism together, and you will find both Buddhist and Hindus in Swayambhunath.

On the cultural side of things, we have the Kathmandu Durbar Square. A marvel of pagoda architecture, the ancient palace hosted the Malla and Shah Kings during their rule in the valley. The ancient palace depicts the rich history and culture of the nation. Alongside the stunning Durbar Square, we also journey to the famous pathways of Asan. These narrow cobbled streets are surrounded by tall buildings are built in such a fashion that they look identical to one another.From Asan, we head to Boudhanath, our final destination for this full day tour of Kathmandu City. Here, we can explore the rich Buddhist heritage and practices. The peaceful surrounding around the stupa is also simply refreshing.

Brief Itinerary:

Our journey begins from the temple of Swayambhunath. The ancient temple perched atop a hill boasts a tranquil atmosphere and stunning view of the valley from the top. Making our way down the many stairs of Swayambhu hill and getting back on the busy road of Kathmandu, we headto the temple of Pashupatinath. Here, thousands of pilgrims visit every day to paytheir respects. We continue our journey towards the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Enjoying the cobbled streets of Basantapur alongside the local museum, we make our way towards AsanTole visiting the local markets enroute. Exiting the area, we continue our journey towards the monastery of Boudhanath where we are treated to a beautifulview of sunset.


The weather in the capital city is moderate through the year. The climate never gets too hot or too cold. While summer sees temperature soar up to 30 degree Celsius, during winter it rarely falls down to 0 degree Celsius. Each season has its own set of attractions alongside the local festivals which may fall during your stay in the valley. Spring brings a lovely temperature alongside stunning natural view. The Nepalese New Year also falls during this season. Monsoon leaves the city muddy and flooded so we advise you not to visit during this season. Autumn is another good season to travel to the city. As the biggest Nepali festivals of Dashain and Tihar fall in the season, celebrations goes on for a whole month.Winter brings stunning Himalayan view in the horizon.

  • While cotton clothes are okay for the summer make sure to bring woolen clothes for winter journeys.
  • Make sure to carry umbrella if you are journeying during monsoon.
  • Regardless of the season, carry a windproof jacket.
  • The temperatures in the valley sometime changes drastically so,make sure to always include some warm clothing.
