Brief Itinerary of Gokyo Valley Heli Tour :

We begin our journey taking off on air throughthe high hills surrounding the valley heads north towards the Himalayas. We take a brief stop at Lukla for refueling and we once again take flight heading towards the Gokyo Valley. At an elevation of 4,790m, we make our first stop landing just beside the first of the Gokyo Lakes. We take time to explore the stunning Gokyo lakes and to admire the majestic Himalayas. Then, we once again take to the air making our way to Everest Base Camp. For our final stop, we make our way to the Kalapatthar view point stopping to witness the mesmerizing Himalayan panorama comprising of Mt. Everest (8,848m) at its very apex. The journey comes to anend as we fly back to Kathmandu.

Weather in Gokyo Valley:

A Himalayan adventure affects by the climatic conditions. Depending on the season you are taking the journey,you will be in for different experiences. In additon, And while the nation allows year round Helicopter tours, the rainy months is not the best option. Therefore, the months of March, April, May, August, September, October, and December are the best months to undertake the Gokyo Valley Helicopter Tour. To sum up, Especially during spring, you will be treated to amazing view of the vibrant rhododendron forest in full bloom.


The high valley of Gokyo like most of the parts of the Himalayas remains fairly cold so, warm clothing are compulsory including:

  • Windproof jackets
  • Comfortable pair of warm clothing including trousers and thermal wears
  • Woolen gloves, scarves, camps and socks
  • Make sure you are well hydrated and also carry hot fluids if needed.
  • Make sure you have some additional clothing in case the temperature exceeds expectations.
  • In case of altitude sickness, make sure to have doctors prescribed medicines.
