Trek Details

Pikey Peak Trek Everest View to the famous Pikey Peak(4,068m) in the low land of the everest region shows for one the best view of the Eastern Himalayas. From the beautiful sunset to the mighty Everest, the scenery is spectacular. If you are lucky, then you can even see as far as the Annapurna Range, Mt. Dhaulagiri(8,167m)  to the west and Kanchanjunga(8,586m) to the east. Several of the other 8000m peaks are easily seen from this hill including Mt. Manaslu(8,156m), Mt. Lhotse(8,516m) and Mt. Annapurna(8,091m).

The trail goes through the lush Rhododendron forest and through many ethnic villages inhabited by the Sherpa people. Trekkers go through the beautiful village of Jiri- the land of the beautiful natural richness. Throughtout the journey, we get to witness the beautiful Tamang, Magar and Sherpa villages along with their preveland lifestyle and culture. Through the beautiful landscape we move through the thick trail in the back drop of the beautiful Everest region. In the Junbesi Valley trekkercan take a stop at the Thuptechholing Monastery with the blend of Nepalese and Tibetan culture.

What to Expect

When trekking please don’t hesitate to ask out local guide while you’re traveling regarding the amazing history and culture of Nepal. If you have any question’s we are always happy to answer! We trek per day between 4 to 8 hours its depending on the walk, we can always tailor the date to you and your needs. Whilst trekking with Happyland Treks we must try to drink 3 to 4 liters water per day. Water is known to help when combating mountain altitude sickness.

During the trek almost every village you will have access to boiled purified drinking water. When trekking you will go through terrain that can be flat, downhill uphill and at points with lots of stairs. We are always there to help and support you and your journey. We stay at the Tea house. Tea house trek basically means small hotel with cozy room established along the trekking route that provide room and food. Most of this established family owned and home cooked meals are serve as well as different type of food European and western food it’s bit of different but it’s good.

Mountain Sickness and Prevention

Mountain Altitude Sickness can affect anyone above 3000 meters. Altitude Sickness affects people regardless of sex, age and fitness. If you are showing signs of mountain altitude sickness your safety is our first priority and we will facilitate you getting down as fast as possible.

We suggest prior to trekking to ensure you are in good health and have consulted with your GP. It is recommended prior to departing walking training is done so you have the most enjoyable time whilst trekking. Please don’t hesitate ask more.
ACUTE MOUNTAIN SICKNESS!
Many people suffer from mild symptoms of AMS (ACCUTE MOUNTAIN SICKNESS)
A light headache, loss of appetite and disturbed sleep may occur when suffering from AMS. If you experience any of these symptoms do not continue ascend. Instead, stay where you are or go down to acclimatize.

Hace – High Altitude Cerebral Edema (swelling of the brain)
Hape – High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (fluids in the lungs)

SYMPTOMS INCLUDE:
Persistent severe headache, difficulty breathing, confused thinking, loss of appetite, rapid breathing or breathlessness at rest, vomiting,coughing up pink, brown or white sputum, sound of liquid in the lungs, blueness of face and lips, severe lethargy (not wanting to do anything), persistent bubbling cough, or persistent increased heart rate (110 per minute)
Prevention:- Drink plenty of water (not alcoholic beverage) and eat fruit – especially when crossing high pass.

We made a sudden plan to go on a trek to Pike Peak. It seemed difficult to plan a tour in a short time in this foreign country, so we took help from Happyland Treks. They planned everything from travel to accommodation on very short notice. The people at Happyland treks were very friendly. Our driver was very friendly and stopped us at the main points while driving on the way to trek start point . I felt so comfortable, and we are so grateful to happyland treks for organizing our tour. We also had lots of new experiences on this trip. I would love to go on more trips with Happyland.

After a long discussion, my two friends and I decided to take the Pikey Peak Trek on our recent vacation, December. At first, we were not sure if the trek was available in December, but after consulting with the team at Happyland, we were assured about the trip. The trip right from the beginning was superb. The drive from Kathmandu to Shivalaya itself was an adventure. Our friendly guide gave us a detailed tour and helped us learn more about the lifestyle of the people living in this remote region of Nepal. The trek was a challenge, but we enjoyed it immensely. The Pikey Peak Trek Everest View was an experience of a lifetime.

Since I had completed the Everest and Annapurna Base Camp treks earlier, I wanted to trek the lesser-known routes in Nepal. So I opted out for Pikey Peak Trek. After surfing through google in search for trips, I found a fine trekking package from Happyland Treks. The representatives from Happyland treks picked me up at my hotel in Kathmandu. The trek began from the second day, Shivalaya to Bhandar. This was the trek of ten days. On the fifth day, we reached the Pikey Base Camp. We were surprised to see many flowers at 3000m+ altitude. The guides were extremely kind. They were asking about our health and comfort time and again. We had a great time with these amazing guides. They were funny, friendly, and very helpful.

We were looking for less crowded places like the local area. We found and decided a remote area trek, Pikey Peak Trek Everest View. On the first day of the trip, we traveled by jeep. Other days, we had an amazing time with beautiful people. Happyland Treks had given us an amazing guide. He gave us superb information about culture, mountain, flora, and fauna. Locals were very welcoming for guests. This trek is perfect for those who don’t like fancy and wants to go far away from the city. Hotel and Lodge throughout the trek were very normal and basic that gave you the traditional feel. Top of the Pikey Peak, there are loads of chorten (prayer flag). On the trek, we visited several monasteries and gumbas. We learned a lot about Buddhist culture and remote lifestyle. All thanks to the Happyland Treks and their incredible guides. Lots of gratitude to you guys.
