Trek Overview

This wonderful journey of yours begins as soon as you will land in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Our team will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel for the day. Moreover, we will be having a short evening session as the final preparation for your trek. In addition, on the second day, we will take a morning quick flight to Lukla. This flight would be too short, only about 35 minutes. Moreover, these 35 mins will give you thrills and chills with the scenic view of the high hills and the marvelous mountain range.

Moments after landing at Lukla, you will then start your trek the same day after a short tea break. You will start trekking south along the path of the Dudh Koshi river. Namche Bazaar and the journey ahead

What to Expect during Private tour to Everest?

Purified water, Shower and Mobile Battery during Private tour to Everest

To sum up, Private tour to Everest during the trek almost every village you will have access to boiled purified drinking water. In addition,  When trekking you will go through terrain that can be flat, downhill uphill, and at points with lots of stairs. 

However, For the shower, cold showers are free but we do not recommend therefore not recommending cold showers during the trek because it is cold up there. Therefore, it’s better to have a hot shower which is possible by Gas Geysers, or Hot Bucked and prices start from 200 – 500 rupee per head.

In addition, The camera/mobile battery we always recommend you bring some extra batteries if possible, you can have a Mobile/Camera Battery charge for almost every tea house in the places, where you stay at night and it costs around 200 – 500 per battery charge.  That is to say, be self dependent. 

Itinerary of Private tour to Everest


Altitude: 1,400m/4,5938ft

The moment you land at Kathmandu, Happyland treks greet you heartily and welcomes you to the capital city of Nepal. When you land in Kathmandu, our staff will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel, which will be your accommodation for the day. and on later, we will be planning a short evening session along with our experts and guides as final preparation for your trek.


Altitude: 2,800m/9184ft (Lukla) & 2,652m/8,698ft (Phakding)
Walking Distance: 8km (3-4 hours)

On this day, you will be leaving the luxurious Kathmandu city and getting along to connect with nature. With a short flight of around 35mins, you will be reaching Lukla from Kathmandu. The flight although being a short one, you won’t even feel a lack.

The natural thrills start from the flight itself. The gorgeous Himalayas range, the amazing hills, and the valleys start to mesmerize you. Moving on as you land at Lukla, you will begin your trekking after a short break. Moreover, this day would be an easy one. You will walk alongside the Dudh Koshi river for around half of the day. When you finally reach Phakding, then we will now be taking a pause for the day, and spending the night there.


Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft
Walking Distance: 10-12km (5-6 hours)

The trekking grade starts to increase gradually from here on. Day 3 will begin at a low level but you will then gradually feel the challenge. Moreover, continuing our day with a walk along the Dudh Koshi river, we will begin at a flat surface. The long walk along the Dudh Koshi River will be a pathway for us to enter the great Sagarmatha National Park. This will let you experience the flora and fauna of the park for the first time. The beauty of this park is incomparable to any other park as it has its own identity.

After a certain hike, you will now then be reaching the Suspension Hillary bridge. As we get to the end of the day, we will now push ourselves for one last time. With a rough climb of about 2:20 hrs., we will finally be reaching the Namche Bazaar. This quite a steep climb will drain us. So, we pause for the day reaching Namche Bazaar. For the first time, you will be getting a glimpse of Everest at a distance. With this view, we will spend the night there.


Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft.

Trekking of course sounds freaking amazing and gets you goosebumps. But many fail to lack its challenges and risks. Especially when trekking at a high altitude, the altitude is what becomes the greatest challenge for us. Altitude sickness is one hell of a problem that can’t be overlooked. For this reason, we will have an acclimatization day on day 4. This won’t actually mean that you will be having to spend all of your days resting. As 14 days of journey, can’t cover every bit of adventure this region has to offer.

We can’t afford to waste another day just resting. So, we will be trying to squeeze every last bit of juice from this day as we can. Many activities are there that may help you to enjoy day 4 at its best. Interesting and fun places like Khumjung and a 2-hour hike to Everest View hotel would be an amazing way to prepare your body for upcoming altitude and challenges. However, another great thing to do when in Namche bazaar is to visit the Tenzing Norgay Memorial to pay respect., as he was the first person to summit Mount Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953.


Altitude: 3,800/12,467ft
Walking Distance: 9.2 km (5-6 hours)

The path was playful and a fun one. From here onward, it will get much tougher and more challenging. This also means there will be a boost in fun and you get to experience much more things. The day begins with an early morning walk on a flat surface. We will slowly be encountering uphill and downhill without you even realizing it. Moreover, getting into the deep hours of the day, we will then face more challenges.

The guides will do an excellent job in this situation the best escorting you to your finest. We, then also go a little bit downhill, where we will be crossing a suspension bridge. The days get to come towards an end when we will be pushing ourselves for one last time. After a uphill hike of about 2:30 hrs., we will finally be reaching Tengboche where we will rest for the day. As hard as this day was, you won’t miss out on the scenic view that this day provides you with.


Altitude: 4,200/13,779ft
Walking Distance: 9 km (5-6 hours)

The trail from Tengboche to Dingboche is looks like easy, The trail is full of high hills and a little downhill at some points. The day begins as we will take a walk on a flat surface which will slowly lead to a bit of downhill. The intense hours of the day will then lead us to steep climbs and loads of uphill. Beginning our day beside the Imj Khola, we will follow its trail, which will be leading us to Pangboche village which is known to be the biggest settlement of Sherpas in the whole of Khumbu region. After a short break in this fascinating village, we will then continue our ascend.

Continuing with our journey when the end of the day comes near, as usual, we will be pushing ourselves for one last time. With one last hike up to Dingboche, passing through a landslide carefully, we finally will be reaching Dingboche, which will be your destination for the day spending the night there after an intense day.


Without your deep realization, we have been climbing a whooping amount of altitude every day. Trekking for 14 days is a long one, in addition to such altitude. Therefore, yet another acclimatization day is a must when it comes to your safety and concern. Moments before you reach the base camp, this will be your rest day preparing for the big day. The acclimatization day shapes your body to adapt to the atmosphere and surrounding at this altitude. Moreover, as the last acclimatization day.

Activities like visiting monasteries, gumbas, and stupas would be the perfect way to start the day. Moreover, many people on this day tend to do a hike to Chukkung village or Ngarjun hill to utilize this day and altitude at its best. As it also offers you equally mesmerizing views. As the day comes to an end, we will then be returning back to Dingboche for lunch and rest with playing card games.


Altitude: 4,900m/16,076ft
Walking Distance: 11-12 km (6-7 hours)

We will be beginning quite early this day with an easy hike up to Thukla. Which will be our lunch break. After a lunch and a short rest, we will then go on to face the hard part of the day. After climbing for about 1:30 hrs. we will be reaching the high hills. In addition, this is the place where the Sherpas memorial climbers are located. here tribute is paid to all the lost souls of the brave Sherpas. After this, we will now be reaching Lobuche after a short hike.


Altitude: 5180m/16,994ft (Gorakshep) & 5364m/17598 (EBC)
Walking Distance: 15km (6-8 hours)

The big day finally arrives and is only a moment of time before you finally reach the base Camp. This day begins earlier than usual. We take a little uphill trail that will lead us straight to Gorakshep. Reaching Gorakshep is quite hard with a trek of about 3 hrs. As we reach there, after a short break for lunch we again begin our journey. Continuing to ascend through glaciers, snow, and a rocky trail we will finally be reaching the base camp (5364m) of the world’s highest peak.

The Everest Base Camp stands in its own glory below the mighty Everest. This amazing experience of yours is priceless as all the hard work of about 9 days finally pays off. Moreover, getting thrilled by the base camp you will then be spending a 10-20 minutes at the base camp. The mesmerizing view of the Himalayan range will thrill you surely. We will shortly retrial back returning back to Gorakshep and spend the night there.


Altitude: 5,545m/18,192ft (Kalapathar) & 4,320m/14,173ft (Pheriche)
Walking Distance: 12-13km (7 hours)

We reached the base camp but still if you want able to get a close-up view of the Mt. Everest. What other great place for the job rather than the Everest View point ‘Kala Patthar’ itself. On this day we will be having a short hike to Kala Patthar. Beginning our day early at 4:30 am we will start the hike. However, after an intense 3 hrs. of the trek, we will then be reaching Kala Patthar.

The clear view of Everest will blow your mind with its glory. Standing tall, we get to know why it is the mightiest one. We also get scenic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, and Lhotse shining brightly through the rays of the sun. Moreover, after these scenic views, we will retrial back to Gorakshep and breakfast. In addition, we will be descending all the way up to Pheriche this day and will spend the night there.


Altitude: 3,440m/11,284ft
Walking Distance: 13-15km (8 hours)

The day when we will be seeing a massive altitude drop and an atmosphere change to some extent.
Beginning with a short climb of about 20 mins to Tengboche, it’s all downhill from here onwards.

At Tengboche, we will be having a lunch break at Tengboche from where our descent starts. Along with the Dudh Koshi River, Moreover, reaching Namche Bazaar, we will be getting a comfortable sleep in days at a somewhat normal altitude.


Altitude: 2,800m/9,184ft
Walking Distance: 16km (7-8 hours)

Yet another day full of downhill and descent in Private tour to Everest. This beautiful day from Namche Bazaar starts with a descent to Hillary suspension bridge.

Passing the bridge, we then again get to encounter the same old lushing pine forest and small villages telling you bye, Nearing Lukla, we will then say a last goodbye to the Sagarmatha Everest National park for this amazing experience. When we reach Lukla, It takes courage and great dedication to do what you have done. Be proud of yourself.

Flight time: 40 min.

Do I need training for Everest Base Camp Trekking

Trekking in the Himalayas is challenging. Therefore, As you will be hiking steadily for 4 to 8 hours a day, this trek is great for people with some physical fitness. In addition, Improving your cardio endurance with activities such as jogging or rowing beforehand can help your body and energy level during the trip, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. However, it is not necessary to be a high-level athlete, simply in good shape.

What is the best season for the Everest Base Camp Trek 

However, People travel and trek every month of the year, but the best seasons are Spring, from March to May, and Autumn, from October to the beginning of December. Therefore, January is one of the coldest months of the year and May is one of the hottest. In addition, the rainy season happens between June and August, so you should keep that in mind when planning your trip. 

Mountain Sickness and Prevention During Everest Base Camp Trek

To clarify, Mountain Altitude Sickness can affect anyone above 3000 meters. Altitude Sickness affects people regardless of sex, age, and fitness.
