Doesn’t trekking sound so amazing and full of fun? Hiking in Nepal with the scenic views and the adventure, who doesn’t get thrilled? Trekking may be one of the few amazing things you can do but many lack to realize its danger. Especially trekking at a high altitude there are lots of things to consider for your safety. Therefore, one of the most important is altitude sickness and acclimatization. These 14 days of the extreme trip are done at a great altitude so the risk increases gradually.

For your safety, we will be taking day 4 off as an acclimatization day for you to rest and adapt to this new temperature. Taking a day off and resting does not necessarily mean staying in bed all day. We only got a couple of days on our hands. We will be trying to squeeze every last bit of juice from these days. There are lots of activities that you can do to keep yourself occupied and make the day worthwhile.
Namche region is famous for short trekking destinations like Khumjung and a 2-3 hour hike to Everest View hotel would be an amazing way to prepare your body for upcoming altitude and challenges. However, another great thing to do when in Namche bazaar is to visit the Tenzing Norgay Memorial to pay respect., as he was the first person to summit Mount Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953.

Altitude: 3,800/12,467ft.
Walking Distance: 9.2 km (5-6 hours)

The day will begin with an easy walk on a flat path. The day tends to bring much uphill and downhill going simultaneously. The deep hour of the day will be the time when we encounter the steep hills and the hard path. We will also be going a little bit downhill where we will be crossing a suspension bridge. This day gets to its end with a few hours of sunlight left with us. We give the last climb to reach Tengboche. This 2:30 hrs. of the rough trek will be the last one of the day.

Altitude: 4,200/13,779ft.
Walking Distance: 9 km (5-6 hours)

Bringing equal challenge as the previous one, Day 6 will be quite a journey. The trails being full of high hills and downhill at certain points will be the most difficult part. We start from Tengboche when we will be directly going on a small downhill. As we move forward to our destination for the day, we will be facing hard challenges Beginning our day beside the Imj Khola we walk alongside it until it guides us to Pangboche village. Moreover, this village is known to be the biggest settlement of Sherpas in the whole of the Khumbu region in such an altitude. We tend to take a short break in this village.

Therefore, after catching our breath, the last hike is what’s left between us and Dingboche. Moreover, pushing ourselves for one last time, we will be reaching Dingboche. We will also be passing through a landslide-prone are with the guidance of our guides. This will takes us to Dingboche where we will recharge ourselves.

5 – 6 km.

Trekking for 14 days is by no means a joke. Therefore, traveling to Everest is a long journey, unknowing step by step without your realization we have already climbed a whooping amount of altitude. For your own safety, the 2nd day of acclimatization is a must. Moreover, you can also take this day as a last moment of preparation before the big day.

Therefore, as the previous acclimatization day, yet we will not be wasting this precious day just sitting and resting. Moreover, there are whole lotta things you can do to get the best out of this day. Similarly ,visiting monasteries, gumbas, and knowing the Sherpas culture sounds quite fun. Moreover, Nagarjun hill hike will be the perfect way to utilize this day at its best. The mesmerizing views from there are equally satisfying as the path. Moreover, for this very purpose, we will be giving a short hike to Kala Patthar. Therefore, there is no better place for magnificent views of Everest, beginning our day extra early at around 4:15 am we will now be walking towards Kala Patthar.

From Kala Patthar, we will finally be getting to see the glory of Mount Everest. Also getting a scenic view of mountains like Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and many more. Similarly, Lhotse shining brightly through the rays of the sun. This hike to Kala Patthar will be worth it. Therefore, we will now be starting to descend Gorak Shep and breakfast. Moreover, After breakfast, we have a journey ahead, we will descend up to Pheriche, which will be our destination for the day.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,284ft.
Walking Distance: 13-15km (8 hours)

From this point onwards it’s all the easy descending parts. We will be dropping a whooping altitude on this day which you will know. with the change in atmosphere and temperature. We begin our day with a 20 mins climb to reach Tengboche.

Reaching Tengboche we will have a lunch break. After lunch, we will walk downhill and uphill. with an easy path at the end of the day. Walking along the same Dudh Koshi river we will finally be reaching Namche Bazaar.

As we reach Lukla, many fail to do this task, but your courage and determination have shown you the path. You should be proud of yourself. overnight in Lukla.

What an amazing few weeks I got to spend in the laps of the Himalayas. Being a solo traveler, it was always a difficult job to manage my Itinerary, food, and lodging. But thank god I came across Happyland Treks, based on Thamel. Being a female traveler, the guide made me feel most comfortable. I would heartily like to thank the guide and the whole team. Lots of Love – Sarah

Couple Traveller

The Everest Trek was full of surprises for us. We (me and my wife) did a trek. These 14 days of the trip are still the best moments I got to spend. The team did an excellent job of providing us with what we needed. Me being quite a curious person kept on asking questions to our guide, I can’t thank him enough for always responding with a smile and trying to provide us with every knowledge that he has. Thank you, Happyland Treks, for the best moments of my life.

We did a 14 days hike to the base camp of Everest. The communication with the team was excellent and the information that they provided was sufficient to have a great trip. Being a big group (8 groups) we always had accommodation problems whilst trekking in other regions. but with Happyland treks, the accommodation parting was handled brilliantly. I would definitely recommend it for big group treks.

Being a group from Germany, we had a great language barrier with Nepalese people. The language barrier acts as a great barrier for many throughout the trek. But thanks to the team, they planned our itinerary in such excellence that we didn’t lack any things throughout our trek. The best moments of our life were spent at Happyland Treks. Can’t get any better.

Knowing nothing about trekking and directly deciding to trek the Everest Base Camp, sounded foul at first. But later on, I realized that nothing is foul with a perfect trekking agency in Nepal. This Everest Base Camp Hike of mine which went for 14 days was the best moment in my life and was smoothly handled by the team. All thanks to Mr. Bimal, the team, and my precious guide Sanjib Dhakal.
