Namche Bazaar and the journey ahead.

Therefore, Continuing our journey after one day of acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Moreover, We move on to our next destination i.e Tengboche passing through Dingboche and Lobuche. The path toward Tengboche is full of ups and downs. In addition, you may see the views of Nuptse and Lhotse. Also, the Tengboche monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region is situated here. Moreover, adding a great cultural and spiritual significance to this place with the magnificent backdrop of Mt. Amadablam. Moreover, This amazing trek from Tengboche to Dingboche descends from a dense rhododendron forest and multiple small villages. When reaching Dingboche we take a day’s leave for acclimatization.   • Day 07. Rest Day—Acclimatization.
  • Day 08. Trek to Lobuche 4,920m. -6-7 hrs.
  • Day 09. Trek to Gorakshep(5,180m). Trek to Everest base camp (5,364 m) after lunch. Then return to Gorak Shep 7-8 hrs.
  • Day 10. Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m). Everest Sunrise view, then Trek back to Pheriche 4,240m – 6-7hrs.
  • Day 11. Trek back to Namche Bazaar  3,450 m – 7-8hrs.
  • Day 12. Trek back to Lukla 2,840 m. – 7-8 hrs.
  • Day 13. Morning flight back to Kathmandu, free afternoon.

What to Expect during Trek to Everest Base Camp

About 2 weeks trek to Everest base camp is physically demanding but technically not very difficult. No need for mountaineering skills to complete the trek. but improving your cardio, rowing, cycling, and jogging exercise, can help your body and energy level, which is easy to walk.

In general, we start our trek around 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. and reach the destination around 3 to 4 p.m. We’re staying in a trekking tea house with basic accommodation provided with food.

Water is good medicine for the altitude so drink plenty of water as often.  And good to avoid alcohol and smoking.       

Walking anywhere from 4 hrs. to 9 hrs. a day, slow and steady, given a variety of terrain, including stairs uphill and downhill, rocky trails, dunes, moraine, High suspension bridges, glaciers, etc.   

Highest Altitude of the Trek During Trek to Everest Base Camp

Purified water, Shower, and Mobile Battery during Trek to Everest Base Camp

To sum up, During the trek almost every village you will have access to boiled purified drinking water. In addition,  When trekking you will go through terrain that can be flat, downhill uphill, and at points with lots of stairs. 

However, For the shower, Cold showers are free but we do not recommend therefore not recommending cold showers during the trek because it is cold up there. Therefore, it’s better to have a hot shower which is possible by Gas Geysers, or Hot Bucked and prices start from 200 – 500 rupees per head.

In addition, for The camera/mobile battery, we always recommend you bring some extra batteries if possible, You can have a Mobile/Camera Battery charge for almost every tea house in the places, where you stay at night and it costs around 200 – 500 per battery charge.  That is to say, be self-dependent.

We begin with an easy day with a little bit of downhill and a little flat. The thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla presents you with the most wonderful views that are sure to make you go crazy. Therefore, this flight across the Himalayas takes around 35 minutes. Moreover, after arriving in Lukla, we start our trek half the day to Dudh Koshi River to Phakding where we will stay the night.

Altitude: 2,800m/9184ft(Lukla)&2,652m/8,698ft(Phakding)
Walking Distance: 8km (3-4 hours)

Walking starts with an easy route on a flat surface. But gradually we enter the uphill valley and a little downhill. Moving with the Dudh Koshi River, we will enter the Everest National Park (registering your permit and showing or buying your entrance ticket). after reaching suspension Hillary bridge. at the end of the day, all the way steep trek 2:30 hrs. towards Namche Bazaar. we get the first glimpse of the almighty Everest in a distance.

Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft
Walking Distance: 10-12km (6-7 hours)
Accommodation: Trekking tea house. 

Day 4 will be your best stay for you to acclimatize to the altitude of Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Khumbu region. Therefore, Hiking in the same region in a place like Khumjung or a two-hour climb to the Everest View Hotel (3880m) would be a great start to the adopt your body for a higher altitude.
Moreover, you could also dive deep into Sherpa culture, visiting their cultural museum and acknowledging their daily lifestyle. The trek is flat with a little bit uphill to kayangjuma. Moreover, then the downhill starts from where we tend to cross the river, and at the end of the day 2:30 hrs. climb to Tengboche. During the trek to Phungi Thanga, you will see heavenly views during several ascents and descents on the way. Therefore, the same trail is then followed by a long, steep, and little hard climb to Tengboche. Moreover, this region has the largest monastery in the Khumbu region which is a much-visited destination. In addition, the spiritual and cultural value it carries means the world to Sherpas. Therefore, summing up the day we stay the night in Tengboche.

This trekking day fluctuates with a little bit of easy downhill at the beginning but gradually we go uphill. Also, at the end of the day, very little climbing and we tend to pass through a 5-7 minutes landslide area. This day begins as we start our trek following the Imja Khola river. Then we climb up to the Pangboche village which is. Therefore, the biggest settlement of Sherpas in the Khumbu region. After another couple of hours of trekking, we then arrive in Dingboche. Where you will see the jaw-dropping views of Mt Amadablam. The day ends as we stay overnight there.

Walking Distance: 9 km (5-6 hours)

Rest day is necessary when it comes to trekking in high altitudes, at least you have to climb a few hundred meters. So, we will be having rest for your body to adapt to the change in climate, pressure, altitude, and surroundings. During this free day, you definitely would want to experience much more things. Such as visiting stupas, walking to Chhukung village (4730m). Also, a hike up to the base of Nangkar Tshang peak (5083m) would be a great choice. We return to Dingboche for lunch and spend the night there.

On this day easy trek till to Thukla lunch place. Then after lunch 1:30 hrs. An uphill to the top of the high hill. Therefore, Which are the Sherpas memorial climbers being a place to tribute to the Sherpas who have lost their lives over years of climbing. The day concludes with an easy walk.

Walking Distance: 11-12 km (6-7 hours)

This is the day for which we have been giving out all of our strength and dedication. We take the trail from Lobuche to Gorak Shep for about 3 hrs. Moreover, We take lunch at Gorak shep and check-in room as well. Mostly ascent and decent as rocky trails and glacier paths. Therefore, you must be ready to capture the most wonderful experience in the high mountain at Everest Base Camp of your life full of the mighty Himalayas, and scenic views that will thrill you from within. After Base Camp, we descend 180m, back to Gorekshep for a night’s stay.

Altitude: 5180m/16,994ft (Gorakshep) & 5364m/17598 (EBC)
Walking Distance: 15km (6-8 hours)
Accommodation: Trekking tea house. 

We start our journey early morning at 4:30 am when we start to climb from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar for an amazing view of Everest. In addition, then we fall back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue our downhill journey. Kala Patthar is a must as it is well known for its great view of Mount Everest. Therefore, we will climb 2-3 hours uphill towards Kala Patthar(which means black rock). Which will later reward you with the scenic view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, and Lhotse shining brightly through the rays of the sun. Therefore, We then retrial to our original way to Gorakshep and descend to Pheriche. Staying overnight there.

Altitude: 5,545m/18,192ft (Kalapathar) & 3,985m/13,074ft (Pangboche)
Walking Distance: 12-13km (7-8 hours)
Accommodation: Trekking tea house. 

However, on this day we descend to Tengboche but before our arrival, a 20 mins climb is required to reach Tengboche. Therefore, after lunch, we walk downhill and cross the Dudh Koshi river, Then after 1:30 hrs. of uphill and downhill we reach the flat to Namche Bazar. Therefore, Today we descend a whooping amount of altitude. In addition, there is still some uphill to scale though, We descend to Tengboche, kayangjuma with a decrease of 1000m in altitude. On the same day, we will arrive at Namche for a comfortable night’s stay. 

Altitude: 3,440m/11,284ft
Walking Distance: 13-15km (8 hours)
Accommodation: Trekking tea house.

Lastly, the trek is downhill to Hillary suspension bridge and we pass through the using dense forest. Moreover, The trail then descends again to Lukla where we descend following the Dudh Koshi river, passing through the dense forest again experiencing more of the park’s flora and fauna, and crossing several villages. Therefore, After reaching Lukla you deserve a celebration along with your crew for this great accomplishment in the Himalayas which only the few can experience and conquer.

Walking Distance: 16km (6-7 hours)

After celebrating the win, the next day you will wake up early to take a flight back to Kathmandu where you will be transferred to the hotel. You explore Kathmandu city, do some shopping and relax the rest of the day. We will then reunite for a farewell dinner in the evening after such an amazing teamwork and experience, eager to know your feedback.

Do I need training for Everest Base Camp Trekking

Trekking in the Himalayas is challenging. Therefore, As you will be hiking steadily for 4 to 8 hours a day, this trek is great for people with some physical fitness. What is the best season for the Everest Base Camp Trek

However, People travel and trek every month of the year, but the best seasons are Spring, from March to May, and Autumn, from October to the beginning of December.
