Details Itinerary for 14 days Everest Base Camp Trek In May

Day 1: Kathmandu arrival and overnight in Hotel. (1400 m) 

Arrival in Kathmandu the capital city, trekking agency staff will pick you up from the airport meet your guides and company CEO, check your list, prepare and learn more about the trip.

Day 2: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla-walk to Phakding (2840 m)

After you arrive in Kathmandu, take a flight to Lukla. The flight part is the most unpredictable one. Because most of the time, it might be postponed or canceled due to difficult weather conditions. Day3: Phakding (2800 m) to Namche Bazar (3440 m)  

A 2-hour trek from Monjo to Namche is encountered on the 2nd day of the trip. Although it is a very short trek, the ascending and descending make it tough. Be prepared to witness charming views, suspension bridges, and the adorable Name village. Make sure you carry enough water while trekking.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Namche (3440 m) and hike to Everest View Hotel (3880 m) 

Acclimatization is the most important day during such difficult treks. The altitude could be uncomfortable for most people. So rest, get refreshed, and begin fresh again. Your health should be your priority because altitude sickness can be very harsh on some people. During acclimatization, you can do short hikes to nearby areas. But resting, drinking coffee, or reading a book is the ultimate goal.

Day 5: Namche (3440 m) to Tengboche (3880 m)

The 3-hour 45 min trek to Tengboche takes you to an altitude of 3880 m. Tengboche is a famous monastery where people pray for their successful trips. Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410 m)

Day 7: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche, a Few hours of walking 

To adjust our bodies to the changing conditions, we take rests in between. Take as many days as you want. During this day, you can go sightseeing nearby. However, take your time to understand the culture and tradition.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4920 m)

A 3 and half hour’s hike to Lobuche is another unique experience. The prominent part is that snowy peaks, glaciers, rivers, and trails move past narrow valleys. There is a place Dugla in between for a stop. If you want some snacks to energize yourself, that is your point.

Day 9: Lobuche-Gorakshep-Everest Base Camp (5364 m)-Gorakshep(5180 m) 

This will be one of the tiring days during this whole trek. You walk around 5 hours a day. First, you walk around two and a half hours to reach Gorakshep from Lobuche. Start your trek early so that you get to stay the longest at EBC.

After that, you walk for two h and 5 minutes to reach Everest base Camp. Although the day would be draining, the view of EBC will take it away. Make sure you do not go along. You might also get lost. However, during EBC Trek in May, you will find many trekking going that way. Join them.

Day 10: Gorakshep-Kalapathhar(5550 m)-Gorakshep-Pangboche (3985 m)

There is an alternate route as well. If you do not want to walk the same way down, alter it.

Day 11: Pangboche to Namche Bazar

Although you are going down, you will experience a few up hills too. You walk across Tengboche, following the same route up to Namche Bazar. Walking, capturing the moments in your heart forever, and enjoying your walk down to Namche bazaar, the gateway to Everest.

Day 12: Namche to Lukla

As you descend downwards, you will experience both joy and pain. Sad because you are leaving behind some amazing moments. A 5 and half hour’s walk from Namche will take you to Lukla. Start slowly, do not pressure your body against your stamina. The day might be tough as you descend 1200 m continuously. Take your time.

Day 13: Flight Back to Kathmandu

The last day of your trek is going to be daring too. The runway of Lukla is considered the shortest and most dangerous. However, it is the most adventurous as well. Book an early flight to deduct the chances of cancellation or postponement. Arrive 30 min ahead at the airport. Go back to Kathmandu. Either rest the whole or walk around Kathmandu Valley.
