The journey started from Ireland to Nepal by international flight with transit few other places, and you will land in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

After landing in Kathmandu, you will be picked up by one of the staff from the trekking company with which you booked the Everest trek. With a hasel free you will dropped to the hotel in Kathmandu, in the evening you will visit to the operator agency briefting about the trekking journey, and check the equipment gear if anything need to buy.

Kathmandu to Lukla and Lukla to Kathmandu. Travel by Transport and Flight

Normally, Kathmandu to Ramechhap drive by private transport or sharing transport, about 4-5 hrs., and from Ramechhap by flight to Lukla, 12-15 minutes. Just one flight will be direct from Kathmandu to Lukla during the high season, and there will be many people.

Additionally, weather problems can sometimes cause delays or cancellations. That’s why there are more chances to fly from Ramechhap to Lukla. And also, there will be air traffic in Kathmandu. 

Accommodation During the Trek to Everest Base Camp - EBC

You will have basic accommodation. And nowadays, luxurious hotel accommodation is also available along the trek to Everest Base Camp. Luxury hotels are very expensive, tho.

You can stay or choose depending on your budget, as long as basic, private, or luxurious. With a big dining hall, the tea house was built with mountain stone, wooden with local materials. The normally basic accommodation has an outside shared bathroom and shower. Which is the normal package trip will be basic accommodation included in the package trip.

What is the Best Season for the Everest Base Camp Trek?

Well, people trekking or hiking to Everest base camp whenever they have holiday time to go, but normally the best season is March, April, May, and October, November. Well, every different time is different to see, and trekkers love it.

During the high season from March to May and October, November will be so many trekkers, and it seems more crowded. And June 3rd week toJuly, and August will be more rainy, so we could recommend Ireland to Everest base camp trek from March to May, and the end of September, October, November, till December.

One thing we can not make sure about the weather because the weather can change at any time in the Himalayas in Nepal.

Is Previous Trekking Necessary to get to Everest Base Camp?

If you have some trekking, hiking, or any outdoor experience that will be very helpful along the trekking trail, like walking uphill and downhill with stairs. Even if you’re doing any sports that help in the mountains and you will gain help and good strength.

The walking approx 5-7 hours a day, including uphill, downhill, lots of stairs with bridge-like suspension, and local wooden, and when we go more height less oxygen like lack of oxygen so make sure mentally strong and prepared with slow and steady.
